This holds true within our studio as well as beyond our office’s borders when it comes to the collaboration with planning partners in a general planning team. Building Information Modeling (BIM) provides an opportunity for efficient and intelligent cooperation for small planning offices comprising no more than two staff members as well as for large-scale projects involving multinational planning teams. THE KEY TO ambitious modern PLANNING IS COLLABORATION. A resilient base of decision making in the early stage of planning is essential for the eventual building performance. Building Information Modeling (BIM) is able to provide this base. All the planning is brought together in a central data corpus, serving e.g. as a basis for checking the quality of planning, calculating mass or estimating costs for the later operational phase. By means of the model as a spatial tool of communication, it is possible to conduct virtual tours and analyse materials during the actual state of planning. Once the building is constructed, the data model does not only serve as a virtual documentation but also as a basis for operations and eventual renovations and reconstructions. Therefore, data distributed throughout the building’s life cycle makes up an integral part of the holistic life cycle management. Aspects of our support: strategy formation team trainings – from basics to special trainings office- and project-setup – infrastructure, software and collaboration BIM coordination BIM quality management BIM management support creation of BIM models and objects BIM data visualisation – virtual tours, virtual reality, augmented reality analysis and optimization of complex geometry We do not only support planning offices wanting to gain first experience with the working method of BIM, but we also assist adept offices in their integral work on complex projects by developing an office- and project-specific BIM strategy. In doing so, we place special importance on practicability and economic efficiency. We like to think of ourselves as the connecting link between different planning teams. In this respect, our software neutrality is most essential and guarantees an objective, holistic approach. We are offering the experience and know-how required for applying the working method of BIM together in a practice-oriented way. We provide support with the exploration of these potentials and develop clients’ project-specific information requirements. We also offer project supporting quality management, data editing for the handover to FM systems, as well as BIM modelling of existing buildings. Permanently successful construction and operation require a lifecycle oriented approach. For this purpose, relevant materials and products need to be ‘BIM-capable’. BIM objects do not only involve 3D geometry, but also include any information needed for planning, constructing and operating. Furthermore, these objects are able to directly connect to manufacturers’ web pages or to specific CAD-details in order to access even further information. For a user-friendly handling, it is essential to choose the appropriate depth of information and detail. The objects should be as abstract as possible while also comprising sufficient detail. As in a great number of placed objects particular attention needs to be directed to the model’s performance. In our optimal planning service, we create software-integrated, performant objects corresponding to the Austrian standard and we develop strategies for the ideal distribution of manufacturer-specific BIM objects.
